How to add vintage pins into a keepsake fabric bridal bouquet

Recently, I had a bride ask me how she could add her dad's medal into her bridal bouquet, so I decided to do a short video to demonstrate how easy it is to attach a sentimental pin into a fabric bouquet.

I have had several brides send me their brooches and heirloom jewelry for me to include in the flowers, although this shows you how to easily add a pin, if you want to do it yourself.

I know at least one bride has attached a fire fighter badge into her bouquet and others have used their mother or grandmother's jewels for "something old." Krystle and Jared's wedding was previously featured and the fireman's pin was included in her bridal bouquet. (Two pictures below by Sarah Marble Photography)

I certainly don't mind adding your brooches or pins into the bouquets, but wanted to share this option with you. You can check out my etsy shop for some ready made brooch bouquets or I can create something custom for you! I do have an assortment of vintage jewelry in different colors (not displayed in my shop) so if you want a burlap brooch bouquet, just ask and let's see what we can create together!

The Dress Form and My New Model

If you follow on Instagram or Facebook, you already know that I battled a decision to buy a dress form this week. It was a classic case of Want vs. Need.
I have wanted a dress form for a long time and they were 50% off.
But, did I really need it? Where was I going to put it?

After posting the question on Instagram and wandering around the store, I kept thinking yes, no, yes, no. My buggy was over flowing and wouldn't hold her. I checked out and went to my truck with my other purchases, only to return right back into Hobby Lobby and went and grabbed her up! She got to ride shotgun on the way home!

She's now found a home in Gussie the Glamper, modeling a vintage wedding dress! Last night at 9:00, I was inspired to get out in the camper and clean and dress my girl up. I hadn't worked in the camper, since was before Christmas, so it was good to get out there and do something creative.

I decided she was needed as a model for my shop and now she's dressed in her garage sale finest vintage lace wedding dress and a strand of pearls!

She started her modeling career with this  turquoise burlap and lace bridal bouquet.

Next up was this white silk bouquet. Its perfect for your bridal portraits, can be carried on your wedding day, or used as a toss bouquet and is very economically priced and ready for immediate shipping.

I'm glad I made the decision to buy the dress form and I'm excited about this girl helping me model bouquets! I think she needs a name though - what should her name be?

Autumn Trails Tractor Show

Saturday we went to the Autumn Trails Antique Tractor Show and Pull.

Hands down, my favorite, was this HOT PINK Super A Farmall!

How sweet is she?
She even had a Rosie the Riveter emblem on her. Now, I wonder if I can convince someone to paint me a pink tractor?

Of course my husband loved the Super C rigged out with all the plows and the little Allis Chalmers G "Grasshopper".
It was a rainy Saturday morning (for which we are thankful). We went after lunch and there wasn't as many tractors due to the weather. There was still a cool drizzle in the air as we looked around, so I snapped a few pictures with my phone. I wouldn't break out my big girl camera with the moisture in the air.
Look at the cute little baby John Deere.

We got to see some of the pulling competition.
Each tractor pulls this weighted sled down the track, to see which tractor can pull it the farthest.

One of our antique Farmalls has found a parking spot close to the house, so I've decided to start using it as a photo prop!
Burlap roses, sunflowers, and tractors... Just seems like a great combination to me! (Both bouquets are now listed in my shop and ready for immediate shipping.)

Chelsey and Sam's Wedding

Y'all! Prepare to be amazed! Chelsey was one of my customers last year and this week she has shared absolutely gorgeous photos from her rustic, burlap and lace fall wedding.

In her email to me, Chelsey said "I can't thank you enough for making such beautiful bouquets for my wedding day! I have recommended you to every bride I know! :)"

Chelsey had an all white burlap  bouquet with feathers, lace, and pearls.

Chelsey and her sister, who was her Maid of Honor. Melanie's bouquet had a few jade and tan roses in it.
The wedding rings.

Chelsey's beautiful bridesmaids!

Chelsey's wonderful husband, Sam. He wore a white burlap rose boutonniere.

I love this photo with the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid arrangements, boots, pearls and antlers.
Amy-Lew Photography from San Angelo, Texas did an amazing job with all of the wedding photos.

The Bride and Groom

Here is pictures of the complete wedding party. When I first saw this picture, I told Chelsey that I loved the gazebo. She replied that this was actually the front of an old church at the Sparkles and Spurs Wedding Venue. She said the owner, Karen Fisher, was a "junk gypsy" and had done an amazing job with the property. I know I love the chippy, peely, vintage charm of the arrangement and that chandalier - swoon!

Now, look at that ring bearer and flower girl, how cute are they?

This picture with all the cowboy hats removed and heads bowed for the wedding prayer is simple beautiful!

A special Thank You to Chelsey for providing the photos from her wedding for me to feature here and for allowing me to be a part of your very special day. Wishing you and Sam many years of
wedded bliss!

I am blessed to have wonderful customers!

I'll Fly Away - Burlap and Feather Wedding Bouquets

I was working on this set of all white bridesmaid bouquets the other night and the song "I'll Fly Away" kept running through my head. Took me back to the days of singing out of the Heavenly Highway Hymnal at church. I even woke up the next morning with the song on my mind!

This prompted me to do a post all about the feather bouquets.  Stop by my etsy shop if you would like your own feather bouquets for your upcoming vintage, farm, barn, or shabby chic farmhouse wedding.

The all white and cream burlap bouquet is a popular choice in my shop. This bouquet had lots of the white feathers added.

This was a sage and brown bridesmaid bouquet with just a few wispy feathers.

The red, brown, tan, and cream bridal bouquet had feather and pearl accents.

This was a jade burlap toss bouquet.

Sometimes it's not all about white feathers- I loved this unique combination of purple and orange with peacock feathers. This bride didn't want lace, so orange tulle was used instead for the boutonnière above and the bridesmaid bouquet below.

There's Somthing about Camo

There's something about camo and this time of year that just go hand in hand. Cooler, fall temperatures, spending more time outdoors, folks in camo, getting ready to go to deer camp, squirrel camp, you name it.
Camo weddings are becoming popular too, so I created this
It is now available in my etsy store and ready to ship.

I will confess, its been years since I've been hunting, but I can shoot a gun. Oh, how good some deer jerky would be this fall! I'll have to wait patiently on a friend to share some deer meat with us.
Girls, just think about how excited your groom will be to see you carrying a camo bouquet!
I've been seeing the camo show up in stores as a fall trend and I did recently buy a camo tank top. Its fun and one of my favorite shirts in my closet right now.
Speaking of trends, I'm usually not into that kind of thing, but are y'all noticing more bronze and gold accents in clothing and jewelry? It seems as of I'm
noticing more of these colors showing up in the buttons on new clothes and such.

For this bridal bouquet, I mixed camo, orange, tan, and chocolate brown burlap roses and ivory lace.

As always, if someone needs coordinating bouquets for bridesmaids or boutonnieres for the men in the wedding party, I will be happy to create a custom order with your specific needs. Please convo me through etsy and I'll be happy to help you.

Vicki's Country Wedding

Today I would like to feature pictures from Vicki's country wedding. Vicki had ordered burlap and lace bouquets from me earlier in the year and sent me pictures of her April wedding this week.

I love her dress, boots, and all the turquoise! Vicki and her bridesmaids carried bouquets with turquoise, tan, chocolate brown, and cream burlap  roses with lace.

Come as you are
Stay as long as you can
We're all family
So no seating plan

I like how weddings are focusing less on who sets on what side now.

Here's one of the guys wearing a burlap rose boutonnière.

Seriously, the bridesmaids have the cutest dresses, that I'm sure they will wear again! Brown and turquoise is one of my favorite color combinations.

I love all the country, cowboy and cowgirl decorations they used and seriously want a piece of cake now!

Congratulations to Vicki and her new husband! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day and for sharing pictures with me! Wishing you all the best in your new marriage!
