How to add vintage pins into a keepsake fabric bridal bouquet

Recently, I had a bride ask me how she could add her dad's medal into her bridal bouquet, so I decided to do a short video to demonstrate how easy it is to attach a sentimental pin into a fabric bouquet.

I have had several brides send me their brooches and heirloom jewelry for me to include in the flowers, although this shows you how to easily add a pin, if you want to do it yourself.

I know at least one bride has attached a fire fighter badge into her bouquet and others have used their mother or grandmother's jewels for "something old." Krystle and Jared's wedding was previously featured and the fireman's pin was included in her bridal bouquet. (Two pictures below by Sarah Marble Photography)

I certainly don't mind adding your brooches or pins into the bouquets, but wanted to share this option with you. You can check out my etsy shop for some ready made brooch bouquets or I can create something custom for you! I do have an assortment of vintage jewelry in different colors (not displayed in my shop) so if you want a burlap brooch bouquet, just ask and let's see what we can create together!

What I've Been Working On...

Where has February gone and why haven't I posted anything lately??? Good question!

Virginia, Kansas City, Columbus, Ohio,
Duluth, Minnesota, Midland, Texas, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Las Angeles...

It's wedding planning season and we've been busy making burlap wedding bouquets that have been shipped all across the country!

When I tell people I make burlap wedding bouquets, most think its just for country / western weddings, but here's the thing - Philadelphia and L.A. are big cities (that's just about as for from the country as you can get!)

I've had customers submit their photos and some are very rustic elegant, without the country feel to it, while others are very rustic country. (Check out the featured wedding tab to see customer submitted pictures.)

Recently, there's been several new color combination request. This dark purple and jade (light turquoise) is very springy and makes me happy! This order shows small and medium size bridesmaid bouquets.

This navy burlap wedding order has two toss / junior bridesmaid bouquets (top) and a small bridesmaid bouquet.

A medium size jade bouquet. I get questions regarding the different sizes of the bouquets, so these pictures show the different options. The medium size bouquet is similar to the bridal bouquet, since it has the lace collar (does not come standard on the small and toss bouquets) although it is not near as full as the bridal bouquet. Budget conscious brides have been ordering the medium size for themselves recently.

So February has been very gloomy and rainy. It forced me to take pictures indoors and unfortunately, I don't have great indoor lighting or space to spread out 10 bouquets... Anyways, this order was completed with navy, gold, tan, and white burlap roses and extra white lace.

Have I mentioned turquoise goes with just about any color? This was a new request for hunter green with turquoise!
Again, I had to get creative with the pictures, because of the rain and gloom, so I went to the farm and took pictures in the hay barn, while Jeff was feeding the animals. wedding corsage
Wristlet corsages accompanied this ordered. I imagine these are going to be worn by the mothers of the bride and groom.

This order was different, where the bridal bouquet was jade and the attendants bouquets (medium for maid of honor, 3 small for bridesmaids) had turquoise. Kind of an ombre effect with shades of turquoise and I like that idea! I would love to see pictures from any and all of my wonderful customers and feature your wedding pictures here!

On a happy note, the daffodils started blooming this week, reminding us that spring is coming soon! I meant to get outside and pick me a big bouquet yesterday, but didn't get home before it started raining again. We are dealing with flash flooding and heavy rains this week, so they are droopy at the today. This girl is ready for some sunshine and yard working time!
We also had our first baby calf recently! I had told the girls (cows) at the farm that it was TIME to start having babies. The very next day, this sweet little thing was born!
So that just about sums up what's been happening lately - head down working on helping all of you with wedding flowers, checking on the critters at the farm, and trying to stay warm, dry, and waiting on sunshine.

I better get back to work now, I've got to get all our stuff ready to go to Uniques and Antiques tomorrow, work on a few more bouquets, answer several emails, and Friday is Career Day at the school and have to do a presentation (9 times) to elementary age students. I'm a little nervous about all that and got to get all my supplies ready... Wish me luck and hope they don't find me too boring!

New Fabric Wedding Bouquets and Video Options!

It's a new year and with that comes many new engagement rings and wedding planning. Fun and happy times and I'm excited to help all of you that are planning your dream wedding!

One of the first orders for the year included a new color combination and I'm loving it! Blush pink, sage green, grey, and cream colored burlap roses, an assortment of lace in white, blush and ivory, along with silk heather, and dangling foliage. Sara contacted me through Instagram and we were able to discuss her wedding through direct messages. Her color request is soft, pastel, and so pretty together! Due to her Scottish family ties, she ask if some Heather could be included in the bridal bouquet and I was able to find some for her!

I was curious and had to google to find out the Heather / Scotland ties. I found this story, along with some other info about the flower at this website.
'although it is the symbol of my sorrow, may the white heather bring good fortune to all who find it.'
Even today, white Heather is considered to be lucky, especially for brides, and adding a spray of it to your bouquet, on table decorations and so on is popular.

I was able to send her short videos showing her completed bouquets. This was a new way for me to show more details and connect with the bride-to-be.

I sent progress pictures, before adding the Heather and dangling foliage to the bridal bouquet, to make sure all the colors were like she wanted.

Once she approved of the design on the bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres, I completed the remaining items and sent another short video of everything completed, for approval, before shipping.

With the fabric bouquets that are made to order, you have final approval, before shipping. This way, you know exactly what you are getting. If any changes need to be made, they can be made for you without having return postage, etc. Happy brides make me happy and honestly there have been only a few times that someone has requested a change.

Through my etsy shop, I can only send picture messages, although if any bride's would like to see videos and connect through Instagram or Facebook, please let me know and I'll be happy to send you  a video.

I'm looking forward to helping all of you who are wedding planning this year! Please let me know how I can help you!

"Making Me Look Good Again"

I've been working on some new products this summer and finally was able to have a photo shoot this week. I'm excited to reveal some of the new items that are now available in my etsy shop

Fall fashion, decor, rustic plus new styles of elegant fabric bouquets were combined for a fun day of staging and photographing everything in front of my glamper, along with watching the solar eclipse!
Gussie the Glamper, vintage camper used for photo shoot

Last month, when I ask for everyone's favorite songs and created the free Spotify playlist, I was reminded of many old favorites and introduced to several new songs. One of those was "Making Me Look Good Again" by Drake White. One of the verses jumped out at me and described some of the items on my work bench and a vision I had for my photo shoot.

Leather and lace,
Denim and pearls,
Whiskey and wine,
They go just fine,
Like you and me girl...

Leather and Lace... and FRINGE! Yes, please.

I added chocolate brown fringe to this Tommy Hilfiger purse and created the lace fringe purse with vintage linens I found at a recent estate sale.

I use wine bottles to hold all the bouquets while I make them and that whisky bottle is just cool western decor to me! I bought the guitar with intentions to make it over (paint, bling, etc) although Jeff has objections and doesn't want me to "ruin" it, so the jury is still out on what will happen with it! For now, photo prop...

One side of me loves the muted. natural colors while the other side screams for bright colors and excitement... They merge together just fine for an eclectic style. Granddaddy always said "You're one of a kind girl, you are one of a kind." I've decided he was absolutely right and wouldn't have it any other way!  All the clothing items and some arrangements are one-of-a-kind, so make sure you get them while they last!

Jeff was great to help me get everything set up and put away when I was finished. This is what my table looked like in the middle of my shoot... My big tumbler (I filled it up 6 times that day - It was hot, y'all) and his coffee cup and two pair of welding goggles for viewing the eclipse! We had a partial eclipse here and would look up every little while.

I also had a sweet "helper" part of the time! She likes to be in the middle of everything!

A few of the items have already sold, although most can still be found in my shop and can be shipped worldwide or I can meet/deliver if in the local area. The red fringe jacket is not listed in my shop, although if you are interested, it is a size medium and I would sell it. Technically its not vintage and I didn't make or altered it in any way, so I can't list it on etsy...Send me a message!

As always, I THANK YOU for supporting handmade! Your support is very much appreciated!

Now, Even Easier to Order Custom Bouquets!

I wanted to share with you a couple of updates, that now make it easier than ever to order custom burlap and lace wedding bouquets!

First off, the most popular bouquets in my shop have new "variations" meaning from a drop down menu, you can choose different size bouquets. For example, if you need one bridal bouquet and 4 small matching bridesmaid bouquets, you can do that all from one listing. Or maybe you need matching boutonnieres, you can add them as well, or maybe you need a toss bouquet, as well. If you like the bouquets as pictured, there's no need to message me first for a custom listing to get the additional items. From a separate drop down menu, choose if you want white or ivory lace and add to your cart. The bouquets are still made to order and I send pictures for your approval, before shipping.

Custom orders are always welcome and if you want to make color changes, that's no problem and you can message me for those options. I will note, sometimes the shipping calculator over estimates shipping (it thinks each item ships in a separate box, instead of combined shipping). If this appears to be the case, you can either message me for a better shipping price or I will refund the overages. This is a new feature I have been rolling out this month, so I'm still tweaking a few details. So far everyone seems to love this option though!

Second, Etsy now offers Guest Checkout, so you don't have to sign up for an etsy account.
I will admit, having the account is much easier for us to communicate and you get shipping notifications, but its not a requirement. Recently, I had a bride message me about a custom order, but her aunt was going to pay for her wedding flowers. The listing was in the bride's name, but the aunt was able to purchase as a guest without having to sign up with etsy.

The following pictures are examples of the popular bouquets that have the new variations available-

Here's the "jade" aka light turquoise / aqua bouquets and again this shows the bridal, medium, and small size bouquets.

More bouquets have the option to choose different sizes. (There's also some new, ready to ship bouquets added recently and I'll be previewing them here soon.) I hope this added convenience helps you out. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want something different! I am here to help you out and take the stress out of your wedding planning!
