There's Somthing about Camo

There's something about camo and this time of year that just go hand in hand. Cooler, fall temperatures, spending more time outdoors, folks in camo, getting ready to go to deer camp, squirrel camp, you name it.

Camo weddings are becoming popular too, so I created this

 Limited Edition Camo Burlap and Lace Bridal Bouquet.

It is now available in my etsy store and ready to ship.

 

 I will confess, its been years since I've been hunting, but I can shoot a gun. Oh, how good some deer jerky would be this fall! I'll have to wait patiently on a friend to share some deer meat with us.

  Girls, just think about how excited your groom will be to see you carrying a camo bouquet! 

I've been seeing the camo show up in stores as a fall trend and I did recently buy a camo tank top. Its fun and one of my favorite shirts in my closet right now.

Speaking of trends, I'm usually not into that kind of thing, but are y'all noticing more bronze and gold accents in clothing and jewelry? It seems as of I'm

noticing more of these colors showing up in the buttons on new clothes and such. 

 

For this bridal bouquet, I mixed camo, orange, tan, and chocolate brown burlap roses and ivory lace.

New Jade Burlap and Lace Wedding Bouquets

I recently ordered "JADE" burlap and am loving the new color for bouquets! I staged a photoshoot on the dirt road to show the three sizes of burlap and lace bridal bouquets I make for my etsy store.

The large Bridal Bouquet is on the left, with the medium size bouquet in the center, and the small bouquet on the right.

 To me the jade burlap is more of a light turquise or teal and works well with the tan, chocolate brown, and cream colored burlap roses.

 The medium and small size bouquets are the popular choice for bridesmaids to carry. The small bouquet is also a good size for a toss bouquet.

 The bridal and medium size bridesmaid bouquets for this rustic wedding had pearl accents in the center of each rose. The large and medium bouquets have the lace collar, while the small bouquet does not.


The bouquets easily sit in Mason jars and can be displayed at a wedding reception in a similar fashion. Just have an empty fruit jar sitting on the tables and the bridesmaids can place their bouquet in the jar when entering the reception. Have an another jar on the bride's table to display the bridal bouquet for everyone to admire. Your wedding guest will be impressed with your non-traditional, alternative bouquet choices. 

 

 

 

 

Courtney and L.D.'s Burlap and Lace Wedding

I had the pleasure of working with Courtney earlier in the year to create burlap and lace wedding bouquets for her western wedding. This week she sent me a few pictures from her and L.D.'s special day.

 

 

Coutney carried a bridal bouquet with turquoise, tan, chocolate brown, and cream burlap with white lace. The bridesmaid carried a medium size, coordinating bouquet while the groomsmen wore turquoise rose boutonnieres. Seriously, how cute is the little cowboy ringbearer?

I love this photo with her bouquet and boots on the piano!

Celebrating 2 Years!

My etsy store turned 2 this weekend!!!

"My etsy store turns 2 today! I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported my shop and to all the wonderful friends and customers I have met over the past couple of years."

 I ordered this custom Gypsy Farm Girl rustic charm from an etsy seller before Christmas and made a necklace with it. I was going to hang it on my jewelry holder, but then dedided to see my shop name in lights! I draped it over my burlap and lace covered lamp shade and turned on the light.

I do appreciate everyone who has been a friend to me and helped to support my etsy store with a friendly encouraging comment or trusting me to create custom burlap and lace bouquets for their wedding.

 

When I first started out, I was selling caps and a few wreaths and then somehow I found my place creating bridal bouquets. These pictures are from two orders I have been working on this week for Courtney and Vicki.

Thank you ALL for your support and trust. I'm looking forward to many more years to come! 

Red, Cream, and Tan Burlap and Lace Bouquets

Amanda contacted me through etsy about creating wedding bouquets for her destination wedding this spring. She decided on red, cream, and tan burlap, ivory lace, lots of feathers, and pearls. 

 Here is a group shot of her bridal bouquet, two bridesmaid bouquets, and toss bouquet.

 In our etsy convo, Amanda asked if I had any pictures of brides holding bouquets. I told her not yet. I have an open invitation to any bride that chooses my burlap and lace bouquets to share pictures and be featured here on my blog. I've also thought about hiring a model for a photo shoot, but it just hasn't happened yet. Amanda says she will send me some pics modeling the bouquets and I certainly hope that she does. Until then, I'll just have to come up with different props to help display my bouquets, like my grandmother's old typewriter for this shoot tonight.

Turquoise Burlap and Lace Wedding Bouquets and a New Photo Backdrop

After I finish with a wedding order, I like to take the Burlap and Lace Bouquets outside to take final pictures with natural light. I'm always looking for a new or different place around the yard to take pictures. I've used the gazebo, picnic table, old school chairs and even a vintage sink to take pictures. When I completed the dresser makeover earlier in the year, I had in mind using it as a photo backdrop. Of course the chippy, peely dresser was occupied with fall decor and unavailable for wedding shoots. Now that the scarecrows and pumpkins are gone, I got to experiment with staging pictures!

A Christmas Typewriter

One day last spring, my brother and I were standing in his storage building and he said "hey, you want Grandmama's old typewriter?"

 

"Yep, sure!" I tried to hide my excitement and not seem to eager to take the typewriter, thinking of all the things I had seen on pinterest.

 

"Ummm, its had a rat living in it."

 

"Uh...ok" and I proceeded to get my gloves out and load it in my truck. It landed in my storage building till last week, when I decided it was time to finally clean it up. Well a little while later, the rat's nest was gone and the old typewriter had a place on the coffee table.

 

 

 

I have fond memories of Grandmama typing away on this ol' Royal typewriter. She was the church secretery and always typed her minutes every month. I remember watching her type and occasionally would get to play on the typewriter as well. I think I might have even typed a few school reports with this typewriter.  

 

I spruced her up with some fresh and silk greenery, then added a touch of burlap ribbon and three burlap roses. Since the typewriter needs work before it can type again, I used my computer to type a Christmas message.

Bubblegum Pink Burlap Bouquets

New Product Alert!

 

Introducing Bubblegum Pink Burlap!

 

Ann contacted me several weeks ago about creating burlap and lace bouquets for her daughters wedding. She said her colors were bubblegum pink and steel blue. She wanted pink, tan, and off white burlap roses, with just a touch of chocolate. And, she really wanted to tie in the steel blue somehow. 

 

I got to searching and found the bubblegum pink burlap and found the perfect vintage steel blue ribbon.

 The picture above shows the three different sizes of bouquets that were created for the spring wedding. The bouquet on the left was created for the Bride to carry. The medium sized bouquet was created for the Maid of Honor to carry, while 5 small bouquets were created for the Bridesmaids and Flower Girl to carry and one for the Toss Bouquet.

 In addition to the the bouquets for the wedding party, Ann decided they wanted 7 centerpieces. They had purchased the rustic birch containers from here on etsy and wanted the flowers to match. The medium size bouquet was the right dimensions to sit in their container and she is going to add branches to the bouquets for heigth while maintaining a low centerpiece to see over at the wedding reception.

Ann was a pleasure to work with and she said she would send pictures. We are going to have to be patient though - its a spring wedding.

 I ordered plenty of pink burlap and now have it available in my store! (I used all the steel blue ribbon though.)
