2015 Best Nine on Instagram

Everyone on Instagram was doing it, so I had to join in the #2015BestNine! No, I wouldn't jump off a bridge if all my friends did, but this was not life threatening, so I had too!

2015bestnine.com takes your top 9 most liked pictures on Instagram and forms a collage of them. It seems like all my Instagram peeps like dream catchers, turquoise, Miss Gussie the Glamper, sweet baby calves and rustic gardening as much as I do!

Thanks for all the love this year! If you're not already following on Instagram, what's the hold up?!? It's my favorite place to hang out! Find me @gypsyfarmgirl or the link above.

I'm having fun looking back at 2015 and dreaming about the new year to come! What wild and crazy dreams do you have for 2016?

On the Road

I love driving the roads less travelled and find myself able to stop and take pictures along the back roads. Many times, these are the pictures that make up my photo a day on Instagram.

I'm the kinda girl who often drives with the window down, even though the air conditioner works in the truck and its 90+ degrees outside. I'm also the girl who thinks that the road ways look awesome when everyone else thinks they are overgrown. I love the quite of a dirt road and the peaceful journey to enjoy the beauty.

I'm not a big crowd person, so the black top suits me well.

This picture along the back roads reminds me of a line from the song Get Your Shine On when it says "summer sky dripping rhinestones."

I stopped and picked a few wildflowers one evening on the way home from work.

While I prefer the back roads, sometimes we do have to travel the four lane highway...

Wild pink roses growing on a fence line on the dirt road.

Thankfully the mowing crews haven't mowed all my favorite roads yet or most of these pictures wouldn't exist.

Hope you are having a great summer. What's happening on your road?

Instagram Photo A Day

When the new year started, I decided to attempt a photo a day project on Instagram. I'm not following along with anyone's prompts, just documenting something that is going on in my little world on that particular day. Sometimes its sunsets or sky pictures, projects I'm working on, a glimpse from the farm, or maybe something completely random.

"1.11 I had to stop by the lake to capture the sunset on the way home tonight. #nofilter #sunset"

This photo came out of sheer coincidence Friday evening, 1-11. I got off a few minutes late because someone else was late picking up flowers. I then went to the bank and then the train was coming and I decided to take the back roads out of town because I knew the main highway would be backed up with traffic due to the 5:30 train. This led me to driving by the lake on the way home. I had to stop and take a picture of the sunset!

I had no idea what my photo a day pic was going to be till I stopped at this point on the lake. This picture was taken by my phone, although I did take a few more pictures with my camera. It was the perfect start to the weekend!

Do you Instagram? If so let me know what your user name is. I would love to follow along with your journies as well.
