The 12 Days of Christmas!

This would be the perfect junker / DIY'ers  12 days of Christmas! 

I can say, I've already got most of it, although 2 extra hands and the vintage truck for hauling all my junk would be he icing on the cake!

Speaking of 12 Days of Christmas - I'll be hosting sales in my Etsy shop for the next 12 days. New sale announced every other day, on a specific set of items. The Sharbono family recently celebrated with a ten year anniversary vow renewal. Aren't they an adorable family?

Hot, Hot, Hot - Dreaming of Fall and Christmas in July

My truck thermometer read 112 yesterday afternoon, while I think it was more like 102, but still! All this hot and dry weather has me dreaming about Fall and Christmas in July! 

I've been working on lots of new seasonal decor this month, in addition to all the wedding orders. It's too hot to enjoy being outside for long and my yard is very blah as of late, so you can reap the benefits of lots of pretties added to my shop! Here's a sampling of some new fall and Christmas wreaths, including several new western rope wreaths. 

I've also been making a few more pillows this week and now I'm obsessed with this cute bunting! All I want to do today is make pennant banners! Last year, I traded a rope wreath for a sewing machine and a wedding dress. I didn't need the sewing machine at the time (or so I thought,) but I stuffed it back in the camper and let it be. I have both my grandmothers machines, but I'll admit, they can be quite cranky (the sewing machines) at times and sewing can seem like a struggle. I was working on two pillows for an order when my machine decided to only back stitch! What in the world? I went and got that new machine out of the camper and y'all, it is dummy proof! I am in love with my new Brother (that's the brand name!) It is portable, which means I can work wherever I choose, it's easy to thread and winding a bobber is no big deal. I am enjoying sewing! The bobbin winder didn't work on one of my machines and the other didn't do cute zig zag stitches. Now I'm having sew much fun with it! 

I had someone request turquoise camper pillows, so there are a couple of them available along with a neutral colored one, a doily and lace pillow and a winged one with the quote "What if I fail? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?" e.h.  I still have a few pillow forms that I haven't sewn up yet, so if you want a different colored camper, please send a custom request and I'd be happy to make you one or two for your glamper. I've also thought about doing pillow wraps or just pillow covers, so they would be easy to store and ship. Would you like this option? And if so, what size pillows do you want these made for? 

I had thought about painting a pennant banner on my camper, but never did it. I'm really glad I didn't, because now I can change out the banners from time to time. This one has a very fall, floral attitude to it. I am so ready for some cooler weather and dreaming of glamping and a campfire actually feeling good!

Introducing the Roots and Wings Collection!

I'm so excited to announce my Roots and Wings Collection to you this week! I've been working late hours at the sewing machine, to prepare a collection of pillows, tote bags, caps and more. Here's a sampling of products that will be available later this week in my etsy shop! There's lots of cute camper pillows that would be great to decorate your vintage glamper and burlap pillows with wings and qoutes. 

The bed of my camper is full of pillows and bags! 

I love the tv show Nashville - When I heard the song Roots and Wings sang by Sam Palladio and Gunnar Sizemore, I immediately downloaded it! Love, love, love it!

I came across a beautiful fabric wing at a garage sale and together it all inspired the collection. 

 "give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay." - Dalai Lama

Then there's the fabulous vintage Shasta campers with wings and my love for glampers, so that all fell into line with the theme. There's going to be several camper shopping tote bags with different color campers with assorted lace trims and fringe. 

The double wings and heart are another favorite. Layers of old script or French postage stamp fabric are included with doilies, lace, and old hankies to create shabby chic, distressed wings. 

"What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?" -e.h.  Last year, as I contemplated making big changes I my life, this quote would always pop up on my Instagram or pinterest feed, at just the right time! It was an encouraging word to me, to believe in my dreams and go far it. I'm planning on keeping one of these pillows in my camper. 

There's also going to be a couple caps with a cross, wing and flower.

I've heard the dodge commercial with Miranda Lambert's Roots and Wings song and love it as well! We are both from the same area (I'm about an hour from her Pink Pistol store in Texas,) so I can definitely relate to having red dirt stains on my boots and jeans, calloused fingers, tall pine trees and some of the things she sings about. Sure hoping the song will be released soon, because I can't wait to hear the rest of it! Jeff's been hearing my music playing from the workroom and he ask if I had anything other than Miranda, George Strait and Nashville on my playlist? The answer: that's about it! 

There's going to be several vintage seed sack pillows included in the #RootsandWingsCollection. Farming, seeds, roots - all seem to go together. These are all vintage seed sacks and would be great in your farmhouse decor. I've still got to photograph a few more, before the collection goes live.
