How to add vintage pins into a keepsake fabric bridal bouquet

Recently, I had a bride ask me how she could add her dad's medal into her bridal bouquet, so I decided to do a short video to demonstrate how easy it is to attach a sentimental pin into a fabric bouquet.

I have had several brides send me their brooches and heirloom jewelry for me to include in the flowers, although this shows you how to easily add a pin, if you want to do it yourself.

I know at least one bride has attached a fire fighter badge into her bouquet and others have used their mother or grandmother's jewels for "something old." Krystle and Jared's wedding was previously featured and the fireman's pin was included in her bridal bouquet. (Two pictures below by Sarah Marble Photography)

I certainly don't mind adding your brooches or pins into the bouquets, but wanted to share this option with you. You can check out my etsy shop for some ready made brooch bouquets or I can create something custom for you! I do have an assortment of vintage jewelry in different colors (not displayed in my shop) so if you want a burlap brooch bouquet, just ask and let's see what we can create together!

Vintage Glam Satin Fabric Wedding Bouquets

Today I delivered this order for satin fabric wedding bouquets for a Great Gatsby / Vintage Glam themed wedding next year!

This was a challenging custom order, as I had never worked with the satin flowers like this and had to learn a new skill. It took several samples and trial and error, till we created the desired look of the bouquets. Each petal is cut out by hand, treated to prevent fraying and shape the petals, then sewn together. This process took an average of 10 minutes per flower, before the bouquet assembly ever started. At one time, I counted up the flowers I still needed to make and it was about 16 hours of work, before I could begin to create the bridesmaid bouquets. It was a labor intensive order, but I'm so glad that I could learn a new technique and will be able to offer this style to other brides in the future!

The bridesmaid bouquets had wine, champagne, ivory, and rose gold satin flowers, with lace tucked among the flowers. Rhinestone and pearl clusters accented the center of the flowers. The handle of the bouquet holder was wrapped in wine satin and accented with gold rhinestone style ribbon.

The boutonnieres were made from smaller satin flowers, a tuft of lace, and rhinestones. The groom will have a white flower, the groomsmen and ushers will have wine, while the minister, father of bride and father of groom will have a champagne boutonniere.

I delivered the bridal bouquet before Thanksgiving, so the bride would have it for her bridal portraits. That is one benefit for the fabric bouquets - the same bouquet can be used for bridal portraits and for the actual wedding. The pictures don't do the bridal bouquet justice!

The bridal bouquet has white, ivory, and champagne satin flowers and a multitude of vintage  and new brooches, pearls, and rhinestones.Rhinestone and pearl chains cascaded from the bouquet for a very vintage glam / roaring 20's feel.

I can't wait to see all the wedding pictures after the big day! I know they will be gorgeous!

The mother of the bride provided the fabric and some of the jewels for the bouquets,  (therefore exact reproductions are not be available, as some of the colors of fabric were very hard to find.) I will be happy to offer this style of bouquet to future brides! I am building up my inventory of satin fabric and will be creating some new bouquets for my shop in the coming weeks.

I'm looking forward to helping create your dream wedding!

New Brooch Bouquets for Your Rustic, Vintage Glam Wedding

I've been working on some new bridal bouquets, that are ready made and ready to ship. I love collecting vintage lace, brooches, buttons, and assorted jewels to create these bouquets.

This first bouquet has lace from two different vintage wedding dresses. I recently found a beautiful, David's Bridal satin bridesmaid dress in the Portobello color. I immediately knew that it would be fantastic for cutting up to make roses and it gave this bouquet an elegant touch!
Ivory satin roses , burlap roses, lace, and doilies also comprise this keepsake bouquet. Rhinestones and pearl buttons and brooches accents the crochet lace flowers.

As I'm out junkin', I'm always looking for potential brooches that would be pretty for bouquets. Over time, my collection had accumulated several pink toned pieces, so that inspired me to create a new brooch bouquet with the pink and gold color scheme.
Tan and white burlap roses along with assorted lace is used in the bouquet. Gold rhinestone mesh ribbon adds some glitzy glam to the bouquet!

This bouquet is a timeless, neutral color; with tan and white burlap roses, white and ivory lace, along with gold toned and pearl jewelry pieces. It will match almost any color scheme for your rustic, vintage themed wedding.

I've been bringing in my plants during the cold spells and the house feels like a jungle some days, but it sure is nice to be able to see some green, in the middle of winter! Overall, its been a mild winter, so the ferns have stayed in the gazebo, most of the time. I hung my chandelier in the gazebo as well.

All of these bridal bouquets are unique and one-of-a-kind, due to the vintage nature of the brooches and brooches. These are all currently available in my etsy shop and ready to ship now! If you need coordinating bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, or corsages - please send me a custom request and we can discuss your wedding!

New, Ready to Ship Rustic Wedding Bouquets

I've been working on several new, ready to ship, rustic bridal bouquets this week. I've added them to my shop this afternoon!

I had a customer inquire about a turquoise and coral burlap, lace, and brooch bouquet and was inspired to create this one. I have made a similar one, without the coral, but decided since the colors are popular wedding colors and I had some coral brooches and lace on hand, I would make one.

With fall approaching (can it hurry and cool off,) I am always inspired to create the sunflower and burlap bouquets for fall weddings. This is a variation of my popular sunflower, burlap rose, and pheasant feather bouquet. One of the foliage a in the other bouquet, from a few season back, has been discontinued, so I found a type of wheat grass to make a substitution for the wispy grass. I hope you will like it just as much as the previous version.

Denim and lace! Denim hydrangea blooms are nestled among creamy burlap roses and assorted lace, doilies, and pearls.

Another sunflower bouquet with tan and brown burlap roses and white lace. Pearls accent the roses and a pearl garland wraps the handle of the bouquet holder.

Fall is my favorite season and I love all the colors and rich textures of autumn! Sunflowers, burlap roses, dried yarrow and babies breath, feathers, berries, leaves, and vintage ivory lace and pearls create this bouquet. The first picture has it displayed in a mason jar. For your wedding reception, you can display the bouquet on your bridal table in a similar jar or vase.

All of these bouquets are currently available and ready to ship. If you need coordinating bouquets for bridesmaids, boutonnieres for the guys or corsages for mother, grandmothers, etc. please let me know and I can create a custom listing for you.

I'm looking forward to helping you!

New Brooch Bouquets, Headbands and Wildflowers

The last few weeks have seemed like a whirlwind of events and happenings going on. I was away from the studio aka the "burlap factory" for several days this week and was excited and motivated to get back to work this weekend! There are a few new wedding bouquets with brooches, vintage lace flowers and burlap roses, along with several styles of rustic, boho headbands now available for immediate shipping.

Vintage Lace Flower Bridal Bouquet

All the new items are one of a kind arrangements. It's a fun scavenger hunt gathering unique brooches, vintage jewelry pieces and vintage lace, so no two items are just alike! Neutral cream, white and tan colors comprise the first bouquet along with gold and pearl toned jewels.

I've gathered a collection of turquoise / aqua / pool blue jewelry pieces to include in this brooch bouquet.

There's also small turquoise crotchet lace flowers with pearl centers in the bouquet.

Several styles of vintage ivory lace flowers are tucked among the burlap roses and jewels.

Another new set of items is these rustic, boho chic headbands! I really need a model to display the hair pieces. Each one is attached to a long lace ribbon and can be tied to your desired fit. Some have birdcage veil material, feathers, pearls, ribbon roses and of course lots of vintage lace and bling. There's also a hidden piece of blue lace on the back side of the light colored head bands, so you will have your Something Blue for your wedding day.

The wildflowers have been gorgeous the last couple weeks and I can't help but snap a few pictures while I'm out and about, so I'll leave you with a few of my favorite pics.
Always Radiate Sunshine! Have a great week y'all!

Burlap Brooch Bouquet

I created this burlap brooch bridal bouquet and listed it in my etsy shop recently. Shades of brown burlap and vintage gold toned brooches, along with ivory lace comprise the rustic glam bouquet.

If I was planning my own wedding, I do believe this would have to be the bouquet for me! Since I'm already married, it's now available to one special bride to be.
I've photographed the bouquet in several settings and can't figure out which location is my favorite, so I thought I would share some of them here.
Natural tan, chocolate brown, and the new Idaho potato burlap roses are the base of the bouquet.

I have been collecting brooches and jewelry from estate sales over the past year. I think there are 27 gold toned pieces included along with a pretty vintage lace.

An assortment of pearl clusters, flowers, leaves, feathers, and rope style pieces are nestled among the roses in this one of a kind bouquet.

I've always loved the neutral, earthy shades of brown and cream and this bouquet just makes me happy.

The handle of the bouquet handle is layered with tan burlap and ivory lace.
There will never be another bouquet just like this one, so run over to my etsy shop now to get it before it's gone. As a special to my blog readers- Use the coupon code TAKETEN  to get a $10.00 discount when purchasing.
