Bubblegum Pink Burlap Bouquets

New Product Alert!

Introducing Bubblegum Pink Burlap!

Ann contacted me several weeks ago about creating burlap and lace bouquets for her daughters wedding. She said her colors were bubblegum pink and steel blue. She wanted pink, tan, and off white burlap roses, with just a touch of chocolate. And, she really wanted to tie in the steel blue somehow.

I got to searching and found the bubblegum pink burlap and found the perfect vintage steel blue ribbon.
The picture above shows the three different sizes of bouquets that were created for the spring wedding. The bouquet on the left was created for the Bride to carry. The medium sized bouquet was created for the Maid of Honor to carry, while 5 small bouquets were created for the Bridesmaids and Flower Girl to carry and one for the Toss Bouquet.
In addition to the the bouquets for the wedding party, Ann decided they wanted 7 centerpieces. They had purchased the rustic birch containers from here on etsy and wanted the flowers to match. The medium size bouquet was the right dimensions to sit in their container and she is going to add branches to the bouquets for heigth while maintaining a low centerpiece to see over at the wedding reception.

Ann was a pleasure to work with and she said she would send pictures. We are going to have to be patient though - its a spring wedding.

I ordered plenty of pink burlap and now have it available in my store! (I used all the steel blue ribbon though.)

Getting Ready for Christmas!

Its that time of year! A changing of the season as we say good bye to fall and hello to the holidays. A time when we clean and redecorate in preperation for Christmas.

I've been doing just that this weekend.

Here's a little sneak peak of my Christmas Tree.
My theme this year is Burlap and Lace! Everything on my tree is used for making wedding bouquets in my store.

I'll be sharing more pictures of my shabby chic tree this week!

I've spent some time this weekend *trying* to spruce up my blog for the season. I spent two hours this morning trying to change my background and layout. It would not do what I wanted it to do...So we'll just settle for a "winter white" look with a shabby chic bride's bouquet for a header. At least the orange and green are gone for now...

I also made a few changes to my etsy store and have several items on sale for the holidays. Several items are on sale from $5.00 off to 33% off. I plan to keep adding and updating items this week, so please check out my store for some hand made gift items. I also added lots of custom wedding bouquet pictures, so if you are planning a wedding in the future and like burlap and lace, please convo me and so we can create flowers for your dream wedding.

We've also got a special project going on with this truck load of cedar clippings! I can't wait to share what its all about. Unless you've seen my Instagram pics, it won't be what you are thinking!

Well it looks like I have just planned myself a busy week and I haven't even thought about Christmas shopping yet! Yes, the holidays are here!

Hope you have a great week.

Meme

This is a picture of my Granddad and Meme.

Today we say our final good byes to her at her funeral. Meme has suffered with Alzheimer's for almost half my life. I know she is much better off now and so happy to be back with my Granddad again.

They are the reason I'm "un-American" and don't eat watermelon! I'll never forget playing in the kiddy pool behind their house and eating watermelon one summer when I was a girl. Needless to say I got extremely sick on the melon and have NEVER wanted a bite since.

Meme is the reason I have grey hair and don't really mind, except when my husband makes a big deal about it and points them out! She was completely grey in her twenties; I've had some grey since I was 15.

I can't think about fruit roll ups or Pringles without thinking of Meme. The pantry right behind them was always stocked up with treats for my brother and me. They could cook a great roast and we always had lots of Mac and Cheese at their house.

My first paying job was driving a tractor, raking hay behind their house. I'll never forget that day either.

So many memories and emotions this week as we say good bye, till we meet again.

Burlap and Lace Wedding Bouquets

I have been making lots of Burlap and Lace Wedding Bouquets recently. These bouquets have shipped this week!
Tahnae contacted me about bouquets with turquoise and salmon colors. Tulle was used to add the salmon / coral color in the rustic bouquet. She also ordered 3 burlap rose corsages for the mothers to wear at her wedding.
Natalie ordered a Bridal Bouquet, a medium size arrangement for her Maid of Honor to carry and two smaller rustic bouquets for the Jr Bridesmaid and a Toss Bouquet.

It was a pleasure working with Tahnae and Natalie. Congratulations and Best Wishes to both of you!

I am now taking orders for spring weddings. If you are interested in vintage inspired, rustic wedding bouquets, please contact me through my etsy store for more information or to place a custom order.

A new toy!

I bought myself a new toy tool  this week! I saw the opportunity to use a new iPad for my etsy store work and farm records.  I'm having fun tonight getting everything set up. I decided to get one with 4G service and man o man, this is lightning fast compared to our slow home internet service. I can't believe how fast pages load! Why didn't I do this a long time ago?

Hope you all have a great weekend!
