Help me...please!

I saw an idea to make a wreath using a picture frame and I spun off that original idea and made this.

I made this for my grandmother in the nursing home. Her room is crowded and shelf space is very limited, so this is something that can be hung on the wall beside her bed.

The thing is, I don't feel like it has that "finished" touch. So help me please... What do you think it needs??? I want to give it to her this weekend for mother's day and the nearest craft store is 45 minutes away, so I won't be able to get there before Sunday. I have lots of basic craft supplies here at home. So any creative ideas? I have some blingy butterflies at work that might look good or thinking about making a bird nest to go in it. Whatcha think?

(sorry for the photo quality, it's an iPhone picture)

  1. It's beautiful!! Maybe, a b&w snapshot of the two of you together right there on the left inside the ribbon? Hey!! You're the crafty one, not me. LOL

  3. I like the idea of a photo. But being the person that I am, I would add little rhinestones all around the border of the frame. Just to add some fun bling. :)

  6. Thanks for all the great ideas! I ran out of time and didn't have a good picture with Meme, so I added some blingy, glittery butterflies around the border. Meme has Alzheimer's and doesn't even know what is going on. It's so sad...

  7. I wondered what you ended up doing, and I bet it looks totally awesome.

I'm so sorry about your Meme; my dad had alzheimer's also and it's heartbreaking. But, you know really I never knew if he was alert at all, but being near him I think brought him some comfort. ((hugs))
