Thursday's are for Junkin'

Thursday's are our Gone Junkin' day, aka girls day, aka shopping trip, aka business meeting (lunch at LaFinca), aka board meeting (planning out our booth spaces, junk transformations, etc), aka vintage market day and lots of fun!

Angea and I meet at our favorite little vintage market. We shop there first - Angea being the early bird, she gets a newspaper and we plan our garage and estate sale route, then we end with lunch at our favorite Mexican food restaurant. Some days there are good finds, some days it's not so good. Today, was a good day - lots of boxes and sacks in my back seat! Most of the sales were in dark barns today, since it was so cloudy and dreary, but that didn't stop us.  Ok, I will admit one dark barn was kind of weird in a creepy way and we left quickly without buying anything. That's the good thing about shopping in pairs and we vowed to never go back to that location. We both found boxes of vintage lace today, which is always exciting!

I can't pass up pretty vintage lamps, candlesticks, doilies, or silver platters

Or a very vintage flour sifter and bundt pans, or macrame or a gorgeous blush pink lace dress (so much gorgeous trim on it that will look fabulous in wedding bouquets.)

My mind is busy plotting what I will do with everything! I've got a few ideas and some things will likely show up in our Uniques and Antiques booth (exciting news coming soon about it) in Mineola.

Gone Junkin', Just in Time for Christmas!

Just in time for Christmas, new Gone Junkin' repurposed flannels and Yeti style tumbler wraps / sleeves! 

Fun glamper and vintage truck patches adorn some of the shirts, while others have Christmas images, some are simply distressed, while others have lace. All are one of a kind!

Several of my customers have been wearing the longer flannel shirts with leggings and boots.

Last Sunday, at the Backwood's Marketplace, 7 of us were wearing flannel shirts that either Angea or I had repurposed for the market, so we had to all get a picture together! 

For the little gypsies - there's some smaller sized kids shirts that would look great with a pair of fringe moccasins! 

The Yeti style tumber wraps or sleeves are a fun way to dress up your stainless steel tumbler! I have 20 or 30 ounce sizes in my shop now, in a variety of patterns. (Wraps will fit some other brands of cups. These are shown on the Ozark Trails brand - measurements are included in the listings for you to compare sizes to your cups.)

Gone Junkin'

Most Thursday's we are Gone Junkin'!

Angea and I meet up and search for treasures to repurpose and transform and then we have a "business lunch" to discuss all our ideas, the junk we found, and how we plan to decorate our market booths. 

Inspired by our love of junk, old trucks and vintage Glampers, here's a few new shirts and pillows available in my shop. 

We really need to find Miss Gussie a vintage turquoise or red truck to pull her with! 

Lots of new items are being added to my shop this week! Burlap stockings, pillows, and fun one of a kind clothing items are among the new pieces. 

It's 84° today, but this coat was my favorite junk find today! I mean seriously, I love it and getting to wear it is the only reason I want cold weather this winter! I knew I was getting it the moment I saw it and it just happened to be my size and matches my boots! 

We are gearing up for the Backwood's Marketplace, Christmas show, so mark your calendars and make plans to come Junkin' and Christmas shopping with us and all the other local artisans and vendors! If it's cold, I'll be rockin' my new coat at the market! 

Frilly and Distressed Flannels

Hot of the Press! Literally, its super hot the last few weeks, while I've been working on new frilly  and distressed flannels. While working on the shirts, I have been dreaming of fall, pumpkin spice everything, cooler weather, county fairs, and fall mums, scarecrows and all things autumn!  Some of the flannels have lace, some have vintage doilies or hankies, some are distressed and destroyed, all are fun for fall and now available in my shop!

Not all the shirts are flannels, like this brown plaid western shirt.

This black and grey flannel would be great for wearing over your favorite school shirt and cheering on your team, on a cool Friday night! 

A little gypsy style, boho chic, frilly, fun, rustic, western, vintage, shabby chic...
Each as unique as you are!

Some of the shirts are long enough, the would be great as a tunic dress and layered with leggings, belt, and your favorite boots. 

Doily elbow patches! 

Sizes range from small through 3X. Please note that most of the flannels are men's sizing, so order accordingly. I do understand the inconsistency in clothes sizing (I have s-xl in my own closet). I have done my best to list the actual measurements of each shirt in their listings! Shirts were laid flat on my table and width measured underarms and length from point of shoulder to front hemline. Grab oneof your favorite shirts out of your closet and compare measurements, to get the perfect fit. 

Almost all of the shirts have been previously loved and broke in, repurposed in creative ways and looking for a new home. There may be some imperfections, but that's the wonderful part about all of us, right? Some are newer, hardly worn, some are very vintage and a little tattered. They are super comfy and looking for a new forever closet.
