Getting Ready for Vintage Market Days of East Texas!

So (almost) every Thursday, Angea and I get together and go junkin'  or work on items for our booths. The next two weeks, we will have back to back shows at the Mineola Antique Fair, followed by Vintage Market Days of East Texas in Lindale. This week, we did a little junkin' and decided to drive over to Lindale and prowl around, figure out exactly where the venue was at, which route would be the best travelling, and shop at a few stores we've heard so much about. We figured this was our last opportunity to check it out, before we get really in the thick of things.

Picker's Pavilion was very easy to find and the drive wasn't bad at all (about 33 miles from home). It's right off Hwy 69 and FM 16 in Lindale and just a couple miles from Interstate 20. Miranda Lambert's store, the Pink Pistol is caddy corner from the venue.
We stopped at the Pink Pistol, then ate lunch, went to Main Street Market that we've heard so much about, and then stopped at this quaint little candy store called Kaitlin's Confections.
I can't even recall what this thing was called, but honey hush, it was good!

We made a couple more stops and I know everyone in town is excited about the event moving to Lindale. (It was previously held in Nacogdoches and will be held in Lindale for the first time.)
So with our busy show schedule coming up, we have been working like crazy getting things ready. We've been ripping up wedding dresses and sewing lace on jackets and shirts, we've been creating t shirts, and distressing flannels since June!

We are in the process of getting everything organized and ready to go for our next two shows... This is  is maybe  a 1/3 of the inventory scattered out on my bed! I'm trying to get everything labelled, tagged, and sorted by designs.

This week we will be at Mineola Antique Fair and the following week in Lindale! Busy and fun times!

Fall Favorites Restocked and Something NEW in store!

You've been asking if I would be making more of the pumpkin tin signs and I'm happy to share that there are several now available in my shop! I left a couple of the pumpkins blank, so they are ready to personalize with your name or favorite fall saying.

Another batch of distressed flannels and denim shirts was also added this week!

The cold front this week dropped the temperatures and I was finally able to wear one of my cozy flannels! Most of the shirts are men's sizing, so they do run big. They are great to wear with boots and jeans or add a belt and wear with leggings as a long tunic top.

There's also some fall centerpieces and bridal bouquets that are ready to ship now.

Now, I would like to introduce you to a new item in my shop! The following necklace are a all unique, one of a kind pieces. You all know I have a love for vintage fabrics and the countless hours of handiwork that went into creating the tablecloths, scarves, napkins, hankies, etc. Instead of trashing a piece because of stains, I have cut out some of the embroidered flowers and created necklace pendents. Each necklace has a 1 inch round bezel and come on assorted chain styles. Some have a piece of vintage lace tied to them as well.

This set was the absolute hardest product I have ever photographed! I used scrapbook paper that has definitions of memory, inspire, and flourish, along with a piece of dried babies breath. Since this is my first experience with the bezels and resin, all the necklace can all be described as "perfectly imperfect." The babies breath gives these necklaces a 3D effect, as it raises out of the resin a little bit. The embroidered fabric also adds a texture opposed to thin paper creating the design... Definitely a learning experience with these!

Hope you all have a Happy Fall!

Live Life Vintagy and Fabulous!

Live life Vintagy and Fabulous!

Here's a few more items that we've been working on for the Yamboree.

These dream catchers were already loaded in the camper, but I had to get them back out and photograph them all together. I was sitting in a hospital waiting room last week and hand stitched the vintage doilies to the hoops and got lots of "whatcha making?" So for all the curious ones, here they are finished!

Don't be afraid to chase your big dreams!

I kinda, seriously love vintage lace! I'm making up for that time as a kid, when I hated lace! These lace and flannel dusters are vintage and fabulous and the cold front coming tomorrow, should make it perfect weather, so we can finally wear them!
My sweet lil' carousel horse is ready for the fair! You might have seen on Instagram (especially if you follow the stories) that I found an U-G-L-Y carousel horse, while out junkin one day. She's now a sparkly pink, gold, cream, and rose gold. My first thought was paint it solid turquoise glitter, but...
When I saw this picture on Pinterest, I fell in love and knew this is how I would fashion her. Please bring your sweet lil' cowgirls by with their tutu's on and take a picture with her, because I need to see the sweetness in real life! Maybe she needs to decorate a whimsical nursery or girls room or she would make a great photographer's prop for mini sessions, so this could happen several times... The possibilities are endless!
🎼 You only love me for my big sunglasses...🎼
Oh Vanessa, she's looking all sassy with her shades and big hair bow on!
The only difference between an adventure and an ordeal, is your attitude... Here's to grand adventures!
Our Yamboree booth starts Thursday
at 12:00 till 6:00 pm. Friday 9:00-6:00, Saturday 9:00-5:00 at the Yamboree Fair Grounds. Come see us and say hi!
