What I've Been Working On...

Where has February gone and why haven't I posted anything lately??? Good question! 

Virginia, Kansas City, Columbus, Ohio, 

Duluth, Minnesota, Midland, Texas, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Las Angeles...  

It's wedding planning season and we've been busy making burlap wedding bouquets that have been shipped all across the country! 

When I tell people I make burlap wedding bouquets, most think its just for country / western weddings, but here's the thing - Philadelphia and L.A. are big cities (that's just about as for from the country as you can get!) 

I've had customers submit their photos and some are very rustic elegant, without the country feel to it, while others are very rustic country. (Check out the featured wedding tab to see customer submitted pictures.)

Recently, there's been several new color combination request. This dark purple and jade (light turquoise) is very springy and makes me happy! This order shows small and medium size bridesmaid bouquets.

 A medium size jade bouquet. I get questions regarding the different sizes of the bouquets, so these pictures show the different options. The medium size bouquet is similar to the bridal bouquet, since it has the lace collar (does not come standard on the small and toss bouquets) although it is not near as full as the bridal bouquet. Budget conscious brides have been ordering the medium size for themselves recently.

 So February has been very gloomy and rainy. It forced me to take pictures indoors and unfortunately, I don't have great indoor lighting or space to spread out 10 bouquets... Anyways, this order was completed with navy, gold, tan, and white burlap roses and extra white lace.

 Have I mentioned turquoise goes with just about any color? This was a new request for hunter green with turquoise!

Again, I had to get creative with the pictures, because of the rain and gloom, so I went to the farm and took pictures in the hay barn, while Jeff was feeding the animals. 

 Wristlet corsages accompanied this ordered. I imagine these are going to be worn by the mothers of the bride and groom.

This order was different, where the bridal bouquet was jade and the attendants bouquets (medium for maid of honor, 3 small for bridesmaids) had turquoise. Kind of an ombre effect with shades of turquoise and I like that idea! I would love to see pictures from any and all of my wonderful customers and feature your wedding pictures here! 

 On a happy note, the daffodils started blooming this week, reminding us that spring is coming soon! I meant to get outside and pick me a big bouquet yesterday, but didn't get home before it started raining again. We are dealing with flash flooding and heavy rains this week, so they are droopy at the today. This girl is ready for some sunshine and yard working time!

We also had our first baby calf recently! I had told the girls (cows) at the farm that it was TIME to start having babies. The very next day, this sweet little thing was born! 

So that just about sums up what's been happening lately - head down working on helping all of you with wedding flowers, checking on the critters at the farm, and trying to stay warm, dry, and waiting on sunshine.

I better get back to work now, I've got to get all our stuff ready to go to Uniques and Antiques tomorrow, work on a few more bouquets, answer several emails, and Friday is Career Day at the school and have to do a presentation (9 times) to elementary age students. I'm a little nervous about all that and got to get all my supplies ready... Wish me luck and hope they don't find me too boring!

As the Yamboree approaches this week and lots of fall shows are coming up, we wanted to let you know that we are not participating in any shows this season. It's a bittersweet thing, although we have had several local large events and weddings scheduled this fall, along with devoting our time to being more available for my local and online customers and creating new inventory for my shop, as well as our booth space with Angea at Uniques and Antiques in Mineola, Texas. We've simply  got a lot going on and as much as we try, we can't do everything.

The fall wedding season has been busy and lots of last minute wedding orders have been coming in for rustic wedding bouquets, so we are happy to be able to accommodate the request. 

Plus we are gearing up to release some fun Christmas items soon. To our customers who loved our flannels and repurposed clothing items - you can find them online and some in our booth.

We will miss getting to see and visit with everyone at the shows this season. Please know that if you need anything, I can be available to meet or deliver locally, plus I ship worldwide. We were quite honored the Vintage Market Days of East Texas and Junkin' Across Texas reached out and invited us to their fall shows, although the dates conflicted with another big event we are helping with.

This year, our booth at Uniques and Antiques is open 5 days a week, all year long and Angea and I regularly update our space there. In fact, there will be a Christmas Open House on October 27 - 28, 2017. We will be in the store part of that time. The Mineola Iron Horse Days will be happening nearby, so come out and enjoy a beautiful fall weekend in historic Mineola and maybe we will run into you there!

So this season, we are concentrating on our online shop, our booth, and our local, loyal customers and friends (several have already placed Christmas orders for house/tree decorating and cemetery flowers.) Oh, and the farm critters need some attention too! I want to give the best service to everyone, without compromising care and quality. Hope your summer is going great! Several things to tell you about in today's update.  It's now more convenient to order different size bouquets for your wedding! From drop down menus, you can choose quantity and size, bouquets on the most popular bouquets in my shop, without having to message me first. Custom Orders are still available if you want different color combinations or styles. I always send pictures for your approval on all made to order items. Etsy guest check out now offered, so you don't have to have an Etsy account to purchase.  Several new styles of ready to ship bridal bouquets are available for immediate shipping.  Rush orders can usually be accommodated, if you need something quickly, so don't be afraid to ask!  Bouquet sizes (left to right) - Bridal, toss / flower girl, medium size bridesmaid, small bridesmaid bouquets. P.S. You might have noticed I changed my logo again! I think this one better describes some of the things my business / life is all about - burlap, white chippy frames, chasing wildflowers, old trucks and glampers, mason jar everything, cactus, and turquoise. Whatcha think about this one? 

Preston and Charlene's Western Wedding

I recently had the pleasure of designing burlap bouquets and boutonnieres for Preston and Charlene's Western Wedding! Her photographer, Stacey Hansen, shared pictures with me last week and let me tell you, they are gorgeous! The bride is stunning and scenery is spectacular in Northern Utah at the American West Heritage Center! 

Charlene's colors were David's Bridal "Pool" and after sending her fabric samples, she decided my "Jade" burlap was the best match for her. The jade is more of a light turquoise / aqua blue color. Her bridal bouquet had tan and jade burlap roses, sola flowers and lace, while the bridesmaids bouquets were more neutral colored to stand out against the pool blue dresses.  

Together Charlene and her photographer made my bouquets look pretty!
