Yeehaw!

Yeehaw! There's the sweetest lady in blog land, known as Ms. Sally from Whispering Hope. She has been a continuous source of encouragement, supporter, and cheerleader since the very beginning of GypsyFarmGirl. Go MIA on the blog, she comes checking on you and always has a positive comment for my post. She's been here since the beginning, when I told very few about my shop and yet we've never met in person. If I ever find my way to Florida, I'm going to have to pay her a visit! 

Well, now her 10 year old great granddaughter, Miss Hunter, has opened her own online shop, eMilee.biz and Ms. Sally is there helping her out and getting her cowgirl apparel shop going . Of course I had to order a t-shirt from her, because we are all about dreaming BIG and supporting small businesses!

I chose the Yeehaw! shirt in navy. 

Hunter is a cowgirl and reminds me of myself at that age. I grew up on horses and was going to play days, barrel racings and joined 4-H when I was ten. Some of my favorite times were spent on horseback! The  horse below reminds me of my first horse, Sam. I started barrel racing and pole bending when I was 7, so I can see my younger self in her pictures! (Maybe I can dig up some of my old horse pictures sometime soon.)

I'm so glad Hunter has such an encourager like Ms. Sally, who believes in her dreams of owning her business and selling horse tshirts and accessories. Every child (and adult) deserves someone like that in their life! 

I purchased the shirt from her shop and the order was fulfilled by spread shirt. I appreciated that there was a sizing chart and I could pick my shirt color! I usually don't order fitted t's online, because they all tend to fit different and be too tight in all the wrong places, (as was the case with a separate, but extremely cute shirt.) Since there was a sizing chart, I was able to measure one of my tshirts at home and compare to see what size I needed. I decided that the large would fit me best, compared to my unisex mediums I usually wear. I was not disappointed when it came in! It fits, without being too clingy, yet it's not baggy or too big! The order was fulfilled quickly and shipped within 2 days. 

I ordered on Sunday, had it in my hands by Saturday and wore it junkin on the next Thursday! That's the reason I have a newspaper in my hand, along with my ipad- got to have them to find the garage sales! And yes, I do say Yeehaw when I find a great deal or have that vision of how I can transform something I find.

Gypsy Farm Girl - April 2016

Wait, seriously, how is it already May??? April flew by in a crazy, busy, fun, wouldn't trade it for anything fashion, and before I looked up, it's already May 2!

Thanks to everyone who allowed me to be a part of your special events! I appreciate you so much!

And if "April showers, brings May flowers," well, we should be in for a gorgeous month ahead!

My office...

My office is not the traditional sort! I work from wherever I roam. Thanks to modern day technology, I am able to be flexible and work outside the 4 walls of a traditional office. 

This morning I was on the road early to a vintage market for supplies (can't wait to show some of my new products I'm working on) and delivering a wedding shower corsage to a local customer. THE Junk Gypsies commented on my Instagram pic this morning too! The see the world glamper air freshener was a gift from a friend and the "Resist Much. Obey Little." tag with a Walt Whitman quote came from a junk gypsy purchase last year and hangs on my rear view mirror. 

I stopped on the backroads to answer a return call and talk business with a supplier and order fresh flowers for an event next week. Uhhmmm, secretaries day is next week y'all! Don't forget! 

I answered email and text from the cow pasture, while I checked on my girls. 

I stopped and ate lunch and yes, I was on my phone the entire time. I was alone in a restaurant. I know, most people think, gosh, people should put their phone down to eat (and I do a lot) but I was having a "business meeting". You just couldn't see or hear the customer on the opposite side of the table. If I would have had a laptop or a yellow legal pad, everyone would say "oh she's having a business lunch", but my phone is all that and more for my business. I had lunch with a customer in Ohio, while grabbing a burger in Texas, as we worked out details for her bridal bouquet order. It's a rush order, so I needed to correspond timely  to help her out, instead of waiting till I got home this evening. 

I guess I'm rambling on to say, just because you see someone on their phone a lot, it doesn't just mean they are playing on Facebook (I just may be talking with potential clients in another state or country on fb or Etsy though) and goofing off. It is a job and customer service for some of us who have businesses and don't conform to a traditional office. 

 

I live and work on the Rural Route and that's just fine with me! 

Now I'm back home and working to get the rush order made and blogging. And you know what? I love what I do and wouldn't trade it for a 9-5 job! So thankful for modern day technology and everyone who allows me to help them with their events and special occasions!
